Obviously, tigers, lions, cougars, panthers, and cheetahs dont fit in this category.
Thx
What is the most ferocious feline (cat) that can be legally kept as pets?
Bengal cats. Oh, and cheetahs that live in captivity, in a place like zoo or an animal santuary, are docile and friendly most of the time with their keepers. Cheetahs are not ferocious felines therefore. Bengals were developed by crosses of domestic cat and Asian Leopard Cat(ALC). Those with a very recent ALC ancsestor can be VERY wild. They have a great fascination with water and have a soft and silky coat of fur that mostly is spotted. About the best answer I can give.
Reply:I think depending on what state you live in you can legally have bobcats and some of the smaller non-domesticated cats, you'd have to check with your state laws. Also like the other answerer said, feral cats can be mean, but also very dangerous towards other people and animals.
Reply:Felines are not naturally "ferocious". When starved or threatened they certainly can turn on you and kill a human. We have breed dogs for ferocious temperaments. This wouldn't be possible in any cat.
Special licensing is required for anyone to have a wild animal and few people (pretty stupid ones IMO) have them. The large, dangerous felines are used in the "entertainment" industry and not because they are ferocious.
The Tasmanian Devil is a mammal about the size of a gopher which is truly "ferocious". I doubt you could find one to have as a "pet".
Reply:You need to remember that cats, like people or dogs, have different personalities. If you really want a mean cat, go down to your local animal shelter or veterenary clinic and see if they have any ferrel/semi-ferrel cats to give away. I don't know how much experiance you have with cats, but a wild determined 8lb cat can be as hard to deal with as a 60 or 70lb dog if you don't know what you are doing.

Reply:I own three Bengals and they are NOT ferocious - they are active and loving, have great personalties and rabbit-soft fur. they are intelligent and many have coat glitter - gold or silver, depending on their background. And, they don't get hairballs. Right now I have one curled up on my by my side on the couch and another one across my feet.
You want ferocious? then get a pit bull.
One of my Bengals grew up with two pit bulls at the cattery. and he's got a loving and sweet personality.
Reply:Bengal cats. I have never owned one, but have seen them on Animal Planet. They say that Bengals are VERY independent, but if raised in a lovnig home, can be great pets.
