Which is the strongest and ferocious big cat? Is it lion, tiger, leopard?

By comparing the strength I assume a lot of things. When you compare and Ant or a Human, An ant is strongest by the weight ratio. Tigers being heavier than the lion would naturally be stronger but when it comes to ratio, Lions are more stronger. If the question was asked to indicate the ferocity, then the Lion is more aggressive than the Tiger. Sabre tooth is not a tiger but a common ancestor of the felidae family which is common for both Lions and Tigers. If it is agility and adaptability, then Tigers are the winners. They are more agile than the Lion. When it comes to protecting each other then you cannot beat a Lion since in the wild if one tiger attacks a Lion, then there would be pack of other Lions to destroy it.

When it comes to a solitary fight, most probably, it would be the Lion who is a winner due to its fighting skills. Also the roar of the Lion when delivered in a certain frequency can temporarily paralyze its prey. Both the cats are apex predators and some time also a keystone predator in a certain geographical area. The Ligers (Hybrid between a Lion and a Tiger) is strongest as mentioned by a contributor since it lacks a growth inhibiting gene but will fail miserably in the wild due its incompetent ferocity and a lack of predator attitude. It is too weak to move its 900 pound weight for attacking common victims like a zebra or a deer. An intuitive video that simulates a Lion and Tiger is available if you follow the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDh93IB_n...

I would think the Lion...hence the nickname "king of the forest".
Reply:In sheer bulk and strength the Tiger is the king. The lion is next then the cheetah, and finally the leopard.
Reply:I would say lions...Because they the "King of the Jungle"

Reply:The lion....supreme predator.
Reply:Its actually the Liger (A mix beetween tigers and lion)
Reply:well Tigers are the largest of the cat family, so I'd go tiger.
Reply:well as far as ferociousness is concerned, tigers rank 1.. cos tigers can hunt even men... They are no1 predators.. most feared of all cats..(remember saber tooth.. their ancestors..???)

I think leopard comes next.. even leopards attack humans.. but dogs(those pack hunters...) can contain them..

Lions dont attack at humans unless threatened.. u can walk near a lion .. if u dont mess up with it, it does n attack.. this is what many hunters and "animal scientists" and they are choosy about prey though lion is stronger that leopard... lioness is more dangerous than lion.. as a fact..
