Does anyone know where/how someone can hold/pet a lion/tiger/panther/leopard cub?

I would love the opportunity to hold and pet a cub of one of the big cat species. Does anyone know a place in either the Boston area, the San Francisco area-- or anywhere-- one can do this?

I know its probably too far but at the zoo in Canberra, Australia you can pat and play with cheetahs. I also know a friend who went to Phuket in Thailand and got to hold a baby tiger. Actually anywhere in thailand probably they are very lax about those types of things!
Reply:Many zoos have a petting zoo, so you may find the animals you are looking for if one has been born recently.

You might also get a chance at a circus.
Reply:you can go to the San Francisco zoo.

there's a tiger there.

you can ask the keeper.

oh wait, she's probably still in the hospital.

and may lose the arm that the tiger clawed.

and she was outside the cage.

Reply:A lot of times they have shows at state fairs. They normally have tigers and other things to be petted. I think last year at our fair they even had a place where you could get your picture taken with one.

Reply:i know at the SF zoo when they had the new lion cubs u could go in and play with them. but i was either really expensive or there was a lotto.
Reply:On Tues of this week, I went to Idaville In. There is Great Cats of Indiana, a large cat/carnivore sanctuary. There was a tiger cub there of 4mos., and I was fortunate enough to get to interact with him. Amazing! Big cat cubs are only allowed to be around public until 4mos, then is against the law. Finding a sanctuary that has them is your best bet. If you call first, they should be able to help you out. Zoos want to make a profit, and fairs/circus usually abuse the animals. Our goal is to protect these endangered species. Wild animals.
