Carnivorous animals?

Carnivorous animals like lions,tigers etc kill other animals and eat their flesh. What are the special features of their digestion?

Generally it's true that carnivores don't eat other carnivores (they taste awful, by the way, even to humans...) but when you think taxonomically, there are exceptions. For example, the mammalian order "Carnivora" includes the bears, which are actually somewhat omnivorous... and the greatest predator on baby grizzly bears, is other grizzly bears. :-(
Reply:Beginning with the mouth, carnivores have specialized teeth for ripping and tearing flesh called carnassials. They produce saliva, but it is not important for digestion as most carnivores bolt their food and it does not stay in the mouth for long.





They also have short digestive systems, unlike herbivores. The stomach serves largely to hold the food as it is consumed and to break it down into a liquid, with the majority of the digestion occurring in the small intestine. Carnivores cannot digest cellulose, unlike herbivores.

Meat eaters often don't need to chew their food thoroughly so they don't need to grind their food. In mammals, that means the teeth are different.
Reply:carnivorous animals kill vegetarian animals only for food. A meat eating animal will not be killed by meat eating animal for food.





Lion will not eat tiger, wolf or crocodile for food.





Dear, Goat, Hen, Zebra, etc etc are all herbivores and thats what carnivores like to eat.





Herbivore animal's blood is delicious to carnivore, because its fresh and uncontaminated.
