In a fight to the death between a bear (grizzly) and a tiger who would win? What is the toughest predator?

Also, between a lion/tiger, tiger/polar bear, lion/polar bear tiger polar bear, lobster/raccoon. wolverine/black bear?

please my future in broadcasting for fox depends on this...jk

As for tiger/bear, it depends entirely on the kind of bear, but some tigers do regularly prey on smaller female brown bears in Siberia. Fights with larger male brown bears (of which the grizzly is a subspecies) are too rare for conclusive evidence, however. Lions historically have had the edge fighting tigers, mostly due to their mane protecting them from the tiger's primary attack technique (going for the throat). The "toughest" predator, in the sense of best pure fighter is probably the grizzly bear, though I would rate the tiger as the "best hunter."

Follow the link for a much more thorough discussion.

As for bear/wolverine, one site I saw listed bears as one of the wolverine's natural predators, but on the other hand wolverines are capable of killing caribou and even moose, so they aren't exactly slouches. Still, I think a black bear would have the edge due to size.
Reply:What about a fight between a 1,960 pound polar bear, 11 feet and 11 inches tall, shot in 1960, versus a 28.3 foot 4,400 pound saltwater crocodile at the water's edge but the polar bear sees the crocodile and the crocodile sees the bear. The wikipedia under polar bear has the weight and height of the polar bear. That would be the battle of all battles. Maybe they would both be killed. A draw.
Reply:Look, instead of pairing up unlikely candidates and having them fight like gladiators for the pleasure of a sick humanity, it would be better if you portray how cruelly Man has treated these animals.
Reply:1-bear win agaist tiger(weight +thick fer%26amp;skin+mouth wide double all big cats+his stadning on rear legs will scare them to death =the power of his bit pressure maesured about120 kg/inch,means he need no many bits to kill ,only one and he will dont leave his victim .,he will stay turn it speedly all directions till it go in coma, then he first broke its head bones, isolate it from body )bear un equalised by any big casts even lion)
Reply:What I'd really like to know is who would win in a fight to the death: a starfish or a hummingbird?

Why has no one considered this? The answer could very well be the most important thing science could tell us this generation.

Won't someone please think of the hummingbirds?
Reply:Chuck Norris would win
Reply:A Bear would win against a Tiger because it is larger and more ferocious

A Lion versus a Tiger would be a pretty even match

A POlar Bear would smash a Tiger, Polar Bears re the biggest and most feocious of all bears, they will even, unlike any other bear, attack Humans on sight.

Again a Polar Bear would beat a Lion

A Lobster and Raccoo can't really fight each other but the Raccoon would probably win

A Balck Bear would win because it is much bigger than a wolf/ wolverine, wolves hunt in packs and are weak on their own..
Reply:for the tiger lion a tiger would win cause there stronger but any cat against a mountain lion the mountain lion would win.
Reply:a tiger and the most dangerous animal is a tazmanian devil.
Reply:Tiger wouldn't stand a chance!
Reply:A bear would win because the bear is a much larger animal and would kill the tiger.
