what is most dangerous a lion or a tiger?
Lion or tiger?
I have searched and not found any references to actual fights between lions and tigers. Not even a circus would allow two animals worth thousands of dollars a piece fight for no reason.
Which is more dangerous? I would say the tiger probably kills more people each year than lions because they live in more forested areas and are harder to spot because of it. Therefore it is more likely that a person will have a run in with one. Especially since in areas where they and people both live the people have to wander into the forest to get firewood to cook their food. Anyways tigers have more cover to hunt from ambush, therefore are more likely to get close enough to attack without being shot at.
As for size the Amur (Siberian) tiger is about 50 pounds larger than a lion. The Bengal is about the same size as a lion. The lion has a mane to protect its neck however and its forequarters are about equal to an Amur's (the extra weight of the Amur is from its length). So in a fight they are pretty evenly matched, despite what some people would like to think. The danger comes from their willingness to consider humans food. All big cats have that potential. Though the ones that are hunted extensively tend to shy away from humans rather than attack them. The problem is that on reserves they are not hunted (well this is not the problem, but it fails to teach them to be wary of humans).
Reply:look they're both very big felines that in the propper circumstances could potentially kill you but they're about the same in my opinion. but tigers get bigger than lions.
Reply:both, the end result will end up as you being died or badly injured.
Reply:There have been fights in zoos and circuses between lions and tigers and the tiger usually wins. The males of both species are bigger than the females and tougher in a fight so I think a male lion might beat a female tiger, but I'm not sure.
Reply:If its a male on male Lion, If female on female lion thats why LIONS are KINGS of the JUNGLE!
Reply:They are both dangerous. But, the tiger more so than the lion. In countries like India where there are so many people, tiger habitat is constantly under invasion. People hunt, trap and steal living things from their natural habitat. So these poachers are bound to run up against a tiger. Usually the tiger gets the best of the human.
India is still a largely backward country. There are many poor people that have to survive one way or another. Tigers have been killed for their hides, claws, teeth and sex organs. So, the tiger knows man is an enemy.
