I know that tigers are bigger and stronger, but lions have manes to protect their neck.
Which one would win a fight, a lion or a tiger? Why?
I wondered this too. A few years back there was this show on the discovery channel (or maybe animal planet) called something like Animal Showdown or something. But this group of educated people made all these speculations, and hten built model of the animals, and ran a bunch of tests. They once pitted a lion and a tiger against eachother, and the lion won. They did mention that the mane protected his neck when the tiger went for a neck bite. (This was in the CGI simulation they did) But they also said that the lion was lucky, and could have been killed almost as easily.
Reply:Tigers.
They can also leap 20 - 30 ft from a stand still.
Reply:Lion is the king of the jungle....
Reply:Go to youtube and you will find what any marginally educated person knows. In every documented fight between a lion and a tiger, the tiger has won, usually in the sense of making the lion run. The mane of a lion has recently been shown to be a sexual selection trait and not having a thing to do with neck protection.
Reply:They would probably wind up copulating; the offspring would be called a "liger." Really.
Reply:well ... they might just both win and end up with a little one of these ^_^

Reply:Mathematically speaking, lions because I like them better.
Reply:Definitely a Lion because they're the best!
