Use any of the general meanings to define "cool" for your answer.
Do you think Great Whites, Makos, and their other apex predator relatives are cooler than Lions, Tigers, and Pumas (oh, my!), or do you give the nod to your Kitty Cat's relatives?
Which is the "cooler" predator: Sharks or Big Cats?
Both are interesting to watch in action and somewhat awe inspiring. I like both and like to watch and read about them.
I must go with cats though. They are much more social animals and therefore have some more interesting qualities to them. Watching a leopard in in the stalk, a cheetah running down game, or a hunting group of Lions take down a cape water buffalo it watching nature at its finest. These apex predators are all masters of their craft.
On the other hand I can definitely see how a 2000 pound fish with teeth like razors, that can carve off a 40 pound chunk of meat in one bite, hitting a seal on the top of the water like a large mouth bass hits a top water jig is nothing short of Awesome!
Still it comes down to the social aspects of the cats that makes them a bit more interesting.
Reply:Big cats for their agility, swift and alert mannerism, also the strategy that they use is absolutely marvelous, the timing and the speed of their attack is truly amazing.
If i say all these things it's not just coz I've seen too much of discovery channel but I had a TomCat omg dude I saw him do so many amazing things when he was at work lol I was often in awe of the way their are while on a hunt.
The sharks are no doubt very good predators but frankly speaking it's the BIG CATS who amaze me more then anything and I so love these cats. All types in all forms lol they are graciously amazing.
Reply:You can love a Puma or a Tiger, but sharks are "tough to love", that should count, so I would say sharks.
Reply:Cheetahs Are one of the coolest animals on earth and can easily be domesticated. Imagine walking a cheetah through the park, wicked.
Reply:Totally big cats. They are so kewl. =)
Reply:Sharks are too alien to my taste. Those lifeless black eyes... (shudder). However killer whales are waaaayyyyy cool. Smart, big, strong, what they don't have in dentistry they make up in brain.
Reply:Big Cats are so cool. They are nature's masterwork in every sense of the word ~ graceful and lethal as hunters. They portray all that is 'cool' I think!
Reply:Wild cats are so beautiful inside and outside that there are no words to describe their beauty, they're good to their cubs, they teach all they need to know to survive...specially the 'Moms"............in a group how they "organize" a plan to attack............so amazing! (kind of disappointed, though, to learn that male Lions are kind of lazy.....they leave everything to the females.....you don't believe it? find out who brings "dinner") and there's nothing else in this world that will melt you, but a baby wild cat face.
On the other hand........sharks..........I would say they are the kings of the seas.........you don't mess around with these guys, and yes...........they also have a beautiful look, they are tough and they go straight to the point. The reason I love them ( is one of my favorites..) is because they are respected, you can't make friends with these dudes. No animal has a "perfect bite" like my dudes here.
So, tough decision I make an ovation to both................
Reply:Cool? Ok let's look at it!!!!
Cats are way more social than sharks. They are equipped with an arsenal of weapons. they are at the top of the food chain. However, cats are lazy! They will just lie around and do nothing until they get hungry and then get active.
Sharks have one essential weapon......Their teeth, but what a weapon it is. Completely regenerative, there are rows of new teeth behind the ones that they are currently using, when they wear out, a new one replaces it. Let's see a cat do that.
As a total awe inspiring, "Cool", predator, the shark tops the list.
Reply:Big cats, I've always thought they were some of the most attractive looking animals of all time.
